MOUNTAIN EVENTS

STEAMBOAT FRIDAY NIGHTS

Enjoy an evening of excitement including night skiing, rides on the Outlaw mountain coaster and participate in the light up ski parade. Boogie down in Gondola Square with a DJ dance party and enjoy a different specialty act each night on the Steamboat stage. The Bear River Bar & Grill will be open to warm up, enjoy dinner, drinks and trivia night. The grand finale is Friday night Fireworks. Get ready for Friday Night, it’s going to be a blast!

Schedule of events:

4:45 pm – 5:00 pm Check in for Light Up Ski Parade

5:30 pm Specialty act on the Steamboat Stage featuring a different performance each week 

5:30 pm Festivities kick off with the Light Up Ski Parade down the Stampede Trail

5:30 pm Open for Night Skiing and rides on the Outlaw Mountain Coaster 

6:00 pm Trivia Night at the Bear River Bar & Grill – Not available Friday January 5th

7:30 pm Fireworks

33RD ANNUAL MUSICFEST AT STEAMBOAT

Each January Steamboat hosts MusicFest, bringing the finest Texas and Americana music to the Colorado Rockies; 50+ bands will perform over the six days in Steamboat. MusicFest concerts are sold out, but there will be four days of FREE concerts on the Steamboat Stage, with all concerts starting at 1:00 pm. The Music Tent goes up in the Northwest portion of the Knoll Parking Lot on January 2nd and will remain up through January 13th; the lower Knoll lot will be closed. Please park in the Meadows lot.

MOUNTAIN ACTIVITIES

FIRST TRACKS

Load the gondola between 8:00 and 8:15 am to be the first to enjoy Steamboat’s legendary Champagne Powder® snow, or groomed corduroy in the Priest Creek, Sunshine, and South Peak areas. Tickets may be purchased online or at any lift ticket point of sale. The ticket windows open at 7:45 am daily, while the Ticket Office opens at 7:30 am. You can call Steamboat Central Reservations® at 877-783-2628.

NIGHT SKIING

The Christie Peak Express high-speed chairlift whisks you to the top of Christie Peak (8,000’) on your night adventure.  All levels of skiing and riding will be available. Night skiing is open Thursday – Monday nights from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

OUTLAW MOUNTAIN COASTER

The Outlaw Mountain Coaster is the longest coaster in North America at more than 6,280 linear feet. The track near Christie Peak Express features dips, waves, turns and 360-degree circles. The Coaster is open daily from 11:00 am – 4:30 pm and Thursday – Monday evenings from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Tickets are available at the Ticket Office or Adventure Depot.

HAYMAKER NORDIC CENTER & PATIO GRILL

Experience over 10km of Cross Country (Classic and Skate) and 6km of Snowshoe trails daily from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Cross country ski and snowshoe rentals are available onsite. Lessons are offered daily for Classic and Skate skiing. Haymaker Nordic Center is located east of town at 34855 US-40, Steamboat Springs, just a few minutes from the Ski Area Base.

After your time on the trails, warm your toes by the fire in the Haymaker Nordic Clubhouse while enjoying a hearty lunch featuring house-made chili, salads, Boat Burgers and a variety of sandwiches. Our ski and lunch special is a day pass and a voucher for a $12 lunch at the clubhouse. Open daily from 11:00 am – 2:30 pm.  

BEAR RIVER & UMBRELLA BAR

The Bear River is the perfect place to hang out in the base. Open daily from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, serving burgers, nachos, wings, salads and more. Happy hour is daily from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm with $2.75 Bud, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, and Sierra Nevada, ½ price wines, and $6 daily drink specials. Visit the Umbrella Bar on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm for $5 breakfast burritos and the $5 Bear Bloody on Sundays. Bear River will be closing at 12:30 pm January 5th – 8th to accommodate Music Fest concerts, please join us for live music on the pavers at 1:00 pm.

RAGNAR’S SLEIGH RIDE DINNER

Dining at Ragnar’s begins with a nighttime ride in the Steamboat gondola, followed by a snowcat driven sleigh ride under the starts and across the mountain to the warm, inviting restaurant. Enjoy a gourmet dinner and live acoustic entertainment. Ragnar’s Sleigh Ride Dinner is open Friday and Saturday.

THE CABIN

Located in the Steamboat Grand Hotel, serving a perfect happy hour with beer, wine and appetizer specials. There will be live music at happy hour, January 10th – 12th, from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm. For dinner, The Cabin features a creative menu for every palate. Breakfast and lunch are served daily.

WOMEN’S SKI CAMP: JAN 9-11

Two of Steamboat’s Olympians, Deb Armstrong and Ann Battelle, host Steamboat’s Women’s Ski Camps. Emphasis is on camaraderie, fun, and skill improvement. Steamboat pros create a positive atmosphere that maximizes learning.

The camp includes breakfast on the first day, lunch at Hazie's daily, a technical equipment session, First Tracks on days 2 and 3 (lower levels will have a morning indoor session), and culminate with a social cocktail gathering at the end of day 3 with women seminar participants.
