10TH ANNUAL CODY’S CHALLENGE
The 10th Annual Cody’s Challenge, a randonee endurance ski race, will be held Saturday, April 7th. Cody’s Challenge participants climb, traverse and descend a variety of trails across the mountain under their own power through the use of specialized bindings and skins. The Cody St. John Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in memory of Cody St. John, who was a professional patroller with the Steamboat Ski Area. The race is $70 for those who pre-register and $80 for day of registration. The Gondola will load between 7:45 am – 8:00 am, with the race starting at 8:30 am sharp. Participants may register online at codyschallenge.org/register, or on race day at the Bear River Bar & Grill, 7:00 am – 7:45 am.
RED BALL EXPRESS
Red Ball Express is a race of 100+ large red exercise balls racing down a course on Stampede. The first balls down the course determine the winners of cash prizes up to $2500. Ski Town, U.S.A.®’s Rotary Club in conjunction with four local non-profits sell ball adoptions for chances to win cash prizes and the fundraising money helps support youth programs in Routt County.
