Joe Nicholls Forecast for Friday, May 18, 2018

Joe Nicholls

A weak low pressure is moving across Nevada and into Utah, then into our area today and tomorrow. We'll see an increase in showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, and especially on Saturday, so I've increased the chances and amounts. The steering current next week is really weak, so once the moisture moves into the area, it's difficult to dry the air mass, so I'll keep a low chance of a couple of afternoon and evening thunderstorms in the forecast.

There is a Winter Weather Advisory from the Colorado/Wyoming border to Leadville and from Kremling to the Front Range-ish. Just sayin'.

Today-Isolated showers and thunderstorms after 1 pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 68. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight-Isolated showers and thunderstorms, then scattered showers after 4 am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday-Scattered showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 53. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday Night-Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming east southeast after midnight.

Sunday-A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 61. East southeast wind around 5 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night-Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.

Monday-Partly sunny, with a high near 70.
