Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Thursday, June 1, 2017

Joe Nicholls

We should see a fairly active pattern over the area this afternoon and into tomorrow, but the air mass will be stablizing tomorrow, and that means less coverage of showers and thunderstorms. We're looking awesome Saturday and most of Sunday, but a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm later in the afternoon. Another front moves into the area on Monday bringing another increase in the chance of showers and storms.

The Battle of Jutland ended on this date in 1916 (it began the previous day). This was the largest (and last) major battle fought primarily by battleships in world history. In keeping with WWI, it was a costly battle: the British lost 6,094 men, the Germans lost 2,551 men.
