A little chilly start with much of the area in the upper 30s, but we should remain dry today and tomorrow. We'll see a weak system move across us on Friday bringing a chance of a couple of thunderstorms. A brief decrease on Saturday, then isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and Monday.

NOAA - Steamboat Springs

Today - Areas of smoke. Sunny, with a high near 82. East southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon.

Tonight - Areas of smoke. Mostly clear, with a low around 43. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Thursday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Friday - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

On this date in 1966 "Star Trek" premiers on NBC TV. It rang through 1969 when NBC dropped it because it wasn't doing well in the ratings.
