SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Thursday, February 12, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 25 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: The axis of the high pressure is into the Great Basin, but it's a fairly "dirty" ridge of high pressure with a lot of high clouds over the West. The high pressure weakens and we'll see a cold front move southward later Sunday and Monday bringing a chance of light snow or snow showers, but definitely a colder air mass. Another cold front is possible at the end of next…

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 24 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: High pressure is strengthening over the West this morning and we should have a couple of nice weather days. In fact, should be nice through Saturday, then a cold front will push southward across the area later Sunday through early next week bringing a chance of light snow or snow showers along with ushering in a much cooler air mass.

TODAY...PARTLY SUNNY…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 23 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: The cold front is pushing southward across the area bringing a period of snow, or rain and snow changing to snow at the base. The snow will decrease this afternoon and we'll see more of an easterly wind tonight and tomorrow morning. The surface gradient peaks late tonight around 5 mb, and the wind at 700 mb will be 10 mph or less, so in the windiest spot we could see some…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Sunday, February 8, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 21 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: A very weak system is passing over the area this morning, and we'll see some clouds, but it's looking too weak for a chance of precipitation. The next system will push a cold front into the area tomorrow afternoon and evening, but it just doesn't look like much of a precipitation producer, even the chance of snow showers is looking weak on Tuesday. High pressure will move…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Saturday, February 7, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 20 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: A weak system will move across the area this afternoon and evening bringing some rain and snow showers, but amounts are looking light. A little cloudiness tomorrow, but I think it'll remain dry with the next system due into the area later Monday and Tuesday ushering in a cooler air mass and a chance of some showers. High pressure will move into the area at the end of next…

Joe Nicholls: A lot of clouds over the interior of the West, but we should remain dry today. High pressure will strengthen back over the area at the end of next…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Thursday, February 5, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 18 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: Awesome series of systems, and some fresh snow on the mountain!!! A strong southwest flow of air into the West Coast will push high pressure into the interior of the West, so we'll see our temperatures warm and a couple of dry days. A fair amount of cloudiness will move across us, but any chance of showers through the weekend is looking very light and low chances. A little…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Wednesay, February 4, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 17 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nichollis: Still concerned with snow levels at the base today, but since it's snowing on the camera, I'll keep it snow this morning, and the precipitation will taper off this afternoon and evening. We'll dry out tonight and tomorrow, as a stronger jet stream develops along the West Coast. A weak system will move across the area later Saturday night and Sunday bringing more rain…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Tuesday, February 3, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 16 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: One system will exit off to the east this morning, and the next system is already into the Pacific Northwest and will begin to impact us tonight and continue tomorrow. I believe it'll stay mainly snow, but could be borderline for a little bit in the evening. We'll dry out tomorrow night and Thursday and Friday, but a weak system will bring clouds and a chance of rain and…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Monday, February 2, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 15 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: We'll see some snow through the morning, but it should end by early to mid afternoon. A second system will move into the area later tonight and tomorrow morning, and one more system tomorrow night into Wednesday. The system later tomorrow is a little milder and we could see a period of rain or rain and snow at the base through the evening, then turn to snow after midnight…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Sunday, February 1, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 14 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: There's still quite a bit of cloudiness in the area, but we should see some breaks later this morning and afternoon. We do have a couple of systems to deal with between later tonight and Wednesday. The first arrives later tonight and tomorrow, then a little break with the second system arriving tomorrow night and into Tuesday, and the last system pushes a cold front across…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Saturday, January 31, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 13 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: The low pressure will pass well to the south of us, but there's enough moisture in the air mass and we do see the 700 mb winds come around to the northwest later this morning and afternoon. So, I'm going to put some light accumulations across the upper half of the resort. We have a couple of additional systems moving southeastward from the Pacific Northwest from late…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Friday, January 30, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 12 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: A lot of clouds and a mild air mass, and we could see some light showers in the area through tomorrow morning. A little east wind this afternoon and tonight, should limit the amount of precipitation. The 700 mb temperatures peak at -2'C this afternoon then drop to -9'C by Sunday, so definitely cooler through the weekend. A couple of systems will clip the area from Monday…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Thursday, January 29, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 11 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: A lot of clouds over the next couple of days with a chance of snow showers, but a little bit of an east wind tomorrow afternoon and night should limit the snow accumulations to just a trace. The winds at 700 mb are forecasted to be less than 10 knots, and the surface gradient is expected to be weak, so not a strong east wind episode. A chance of of snow showers on…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Thursday, January 28, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 10 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: We'll see some clouds and snow showers through this afternoon and evening, but liquid-wise the models generate less than 0.05", so I'm going to keep amounts really light. Variable cloudiness tomorrow with the low pressure developing further south and keeping most of the precipitation south of the area, but could see some snow showers later tomorrow night and Saturday.…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Tuesday, January 27, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 9 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: Quite an inversion to start the day, but should see some mixing to weaken it through the afternoon.  A couple of weak systems will move across the interior of West bringing clouds, and a chance of snow showers, but the chance of measurable snow is low. The air mass will cool through the period, especially over the weekend, so at least it won't feel like March or April in…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Monday, January 26, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 8 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: Should be another fairly nice weather day on the mountain. A weak system from down off Baja will move northward bringing an increase in clouds later tomorrow and a chance of snow showers into Wednesday. The 700 mb temperatures support lower snow levels, but the origin of the moisture would result in some higher snow levels and we could see a mix at the base. Pretty screwy…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Sunday, January 25, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 7 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: A lot of clouds flowing across the area, but I've only see trace to 0.01" of an inch amounts over the area. The clouds will remain over the area this morning, but should see more and more breaks later this morning and afternoon. A weak system has developed off the Baja coast and will move northward bringing a chance of snow showers to the area late Tuesday night and…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Saturday, January 24, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 6 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls:  High pressure is over the interior of the West, but located further west of us. I need to point out that the winds at 700 mb increase this afternoon through tomorrow morning, then decrease tomorrow afternoon. The humidity values also go up, and I'm going to put a chance of snow showers in on the upper portion of the mountain with the winds from 300 to 310 degrees.  By later…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls' Forecast for Friday, January 23, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 5 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: A couple of weak systems will bring considerable cloudiness to the area today and tomorrow with the air mass slowly warming. By later Sunday and Monday, the 700 mb temperature climbs above 0'C, so a fairly significant warmup to start the week. We'll see cooler tempertures later Tuesday and Wednesday along with an increase in moisture, so we could see a little light snow or…
