We'll see an increase in showers and thunderstorms later Wednesday and Thursday, then we're more stable and cooler on Friday and Saturday!

Joe is calling for a low chance of thunderstorms from Noon to Midnight.

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Friday, September 8, 2017

Joe Nicholls

A gradual increase in moisture will result in a chance of showers and thunderstorms over the next couple of days. The radar is showing some showers already, and while the air mass is on the dry side, meaning the main threat is more gusty winds, lightning and light precipitation. Should see a little bit of a decrease on Monday and Tuesday, but a return of the activity by the middle of next week.

There is a low chance of thunderstorms from Noon to 8 pm.

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Thursday, September 7, 2017

Joe Nicholls

Wow, just a lot of smoke pretty much over all of the West! We'll see a little increase in moisture over the next couple of days, leading to a little more shower and thunderstorm activity. It just doesn't look widespread enough to increase the chances to near or into the likely category.

NOAA - Steamboat Springs

Today - Widespread haze. Widespread smoke. Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the…

A brief decrease on Saturday, then isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and Monday.

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Monday, September 5, 2017

Joe Nicholls

The weak front we talked about yesterday has moved south and southwest with a much more stable air mass over the area this morning. Should be a couple of really nice weather days. Could see a little moisture back into the area later Thursday, but more likely on Friday with the lifted index down to -3 and an increase in moisture. Looking like a little break on Saturday, then another chance of showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. There's a weak upper level system on Friday…

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Friday, September 1, 2017

Joe Nicholls

We're in the process of drying the air mass out, but still could see an isolated shower or thunderstorm later this morning or early afternoon, but we're more stable at the end of the afternoon and evening. So, even if there's a brief shower or thunderstorm. early, it'll be improving. High pressure through much of next week, could see isolated activity on Monday, but overall a dry period.

Joe thinks we have a low chance of thunderstorms from Noon to 6…

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Wednesday, August 30, 2017

The satellite images show quite a bit of cloudiness back across Utah and Nevada, and while the lift is weak, there's enough instability for an increase in showers and thunderstorms over us this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow. A drier and more stable air mass Friday through the coming weekend. Awesome timing, as my family and I will be there to enjoy the resort!
