Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Saturday, December 31, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 11 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls-

The system that was over the Pacific Northwest yesterday moved south and the clouds just kind of melted away, so I think we end up with a fairly nice weather day. Clouds will be on the increase tomorrow afternoon with some light snow or snow showers later tomorrow afternoon and night. The overall pattern for the coming week gets a little complicated, as a cold front…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Friday, December 30, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 10 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe NIcholls

There are two systems in the short term that I'm looking at on the satellite images, but minimal impact on us. The first system is a low pressure that has been off the Southern California Coast for the last couple of days, and it'll track across Arizona and New Mexico tomorrow. A second system is moving south- southeast across the Pacific Northwest, but it'll be…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Thursday, December 29, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 9 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

High pressure will be over us today and tomorrow, but could see a little cloudiness from a system passing by to our south. A weak system dropping southward across the area on Saturday will bring some clouds, but again, I'm expecting it to be dry. The Arctic cold front will push southward into the West early next week, and in advance of this front, we should see some…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Wednesday, December 28, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 8 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

Love seeing the snow to freshen up the slopes and should continue this morning, then a break tonight and really for the next couple of days, the weather shouldn't be too bad. An Arctic front is expected to move southward into the area later Sunday or Monday with snow developing, the much colder behind this front by Tuesday and Wednesday.

NOAA - Storm Peak…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 7 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

A chilly start, but a fairly nice weather day. We'll see an increase in some clouds this afternoon, then some snow later tonight and tomorrow, and we'll see some breezy winds. Another system drops southward later Friday and Saturday, but I believe it'll be a second system that moves into the area on Sunday that has a better chance of bringing some measurable snow, and…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Monday, December 26, 2016, aka Boxing Day

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 6 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

We could see a couple of snow showers in the area early, but overall an improving day with a drier air mass moving into the area, and the deep low pressure well to the northeast of the area. The next system arrives later tomorrow night and Wednesday, and I really have my doubts that it will have much of an impact on the area. A couple of additional systems will be…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Sunday, December 25, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 5 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls-

Merry Christmas! Well, took the low pressure a little longer than expected to get to where it is now, and that is just into the southwest corner of Wyoming at 6:30 AM, but the snow has moved into the area and our temperatures will be dropping through the day. We'll see low pressure deepen over eastern Colorado, and this will increase the westerly gradient and west winds…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Saturday, December 24, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 4 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls-

Pressures are falling over the interior of the West and this is an indication that the storm system is progrssing and deepening a little. We should have nice weather much of today with the snow holding off until tonight and tomorrow. The west winds tomorrow will be quite breezy due to a deepening of the low pressure over eastern Colorado. That system exits rapidly off to…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Friday, December 23, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 3 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

A nice snowfall from a system that originated well south of the area, but a chance of a little snow shower activity early, but improving conditions throughout the day. The next system is already along the West Coast and will be moving inland tonight and tomorrow. A surface low will move from southern Nevada toward northeastern Utah and this will slow the eastward…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Wednesday, December 21, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 1 day since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

A very weak frontal boundary is trying to move southward, but I expect it too weaken and stall, and I increased the cloud cover and chance of light snow or snow showers today and tomorrow. A little interesting setup for tomorrow, as this initial boundary is over us, and we see an increase in moisture from a low pressure off Baja. We should see a little light snow with…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Tuesday, December 20, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 21 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

The system moving across the Pacific Northwest today will move southeastward, but weaken considerably by the time it reaches us tomorrow. So, mainly a chance of snow showers, but not much in the way of accumulation, like an inch or less. There's a system later Friday into early Saturday that moves across New Mexico, and I think too far south to have much impact on us,…
