SafetyWise and Joe Nicolls Forecast for Wednesday, September 30, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 52 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Most of the moisture is in the form of high clouds, but we'll see isolated to widely scattered showers or a thunderstorm this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon. We'll see more of an increase on Friday, and even hanging in over the area into…

A piece of the low pressure off the West Coast will split and move across the northern Rockies by Sunday and Monday with our air mass destablizing a little on Monday and Tuesday leading to a…

Our View: City should ground air tax promotion

The Steamboat Today   Members of the Steamboat Springs City Council were divided in their decision to reduce funding to support an educational campaign for the winter air service program at Yampa Valley Regional Airport. In a 4-3 vote, Council opted to fund only half of a $50,000 request to help finance the effort, and we think that’s $25,000 too much.

At issue: The city voted to spend $25,000 to support an…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 45 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: A couple of spots reported some very light amounts of rain, but this system is acclerating northeastward into the Plains, so any clouds in the area this morning will be decreasing. The dominant feature over the next couple of days will be the low pressure off the Pacific Northwest Coast, but some of the energy with this system will move across the northern Rockies and…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 44 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Discussion on storm event I kep the slight chance of a couple of isolated showers in the forecast, and it's fairly close with most of the cloudiness and better chance of showers flowing across to the south and east of us. The next chance of some showers will come later Saturday and Sunday with the main system controlling the pattern being a low pressure along and off the West…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Monday, September 21, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 43 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: Another sunny and warm day, but the satellite images show a significant increase in moisture across southern Arizona, northern Mexico and off the Southern California Coast. While this does require some attention, most of the models take most of the moisture south and east of us. Other than that feature, a fairly large area of low pressure develops off the West Coast and…

SafetyWise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Thursday, September e, 2015

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 25 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: The deep low pressure remains over the Pacific Northwest and extends southward into northern California with a south- southwest flow over us. There are some showers over west central and southwest Colorado this morning and will move northeastward and develop through the afternoon, so I've kept the trend of increasing clouds and showers today with the lifted index of -2,…

We have gone 24 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: First off, the low pressure along the West Coast of British Columbia is pretty impressive for this time of year, and as it pushes into the Pacific Northwest, we'll see some moisture spread back into the area tomorrow, Friday and into Saturday. A lot of clouds tomorrow and Friday with a good chance of see some showers and thunderstorms, and there should be enough lift with…

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 23 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls: Another fairly active day with a somewhat moist and unstable air mass over us! A little break tomorrow, but I couldn't completely rule out an isolated thunderstorm, most of the activity will be south of us. A deepening area of low pressure will move into the Pacific Northwest and down into the Great Basin by the end of the week. I've had to bump the chance of showers…
