We'll begin to dry the air mass out tomorrow, but still a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. Higher pressure and some heat over the weekend with a return of an isolated thunderstorm Monday and Tuesday.

So. A low chance of thunderstorms from Noon to 4 pm; a moderate chance from 4…

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Wednesday, August 30, 2017

Joe Nicholls

The satellite images show quite a bit of cloudiness back across Utah and Nevada, and while the lift is weak, there's enough instability for an increase in showers and thunderstorms over us this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow. A drier and more stable air mass Friday through the coming weekend. Awesome timing, as my family and I will be there to enjoy the resort!

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Thursday, August 24, 2017

Joe Nicholls

A cold front moved into the Pacific Northwest yesterday and will move across the northern Rockies today. The air mass over us is still moist and unstable enough for some shower and thunderstorm development, but this system passing by to our north will bring a drier westerly flow into the area, so much less activity over the next couple of days.

We will have a low chance of thunderstorms from 4 pm to 8 pm.

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Wednesday, August 23, 2017

Joe Nicholls

Considerable cloudiness over the region with some light showers, and we'll see more throughout the day. The one limiting factor with regards to thunderstorms is the lack of heating. I believe we'll see some, but these will be a little more scattered than normal. A decreasing trend to the thunderstorms Friday through the weekend with our temperatures warming back up.

Joe is calling for a low chance of thunderstorms from Noon to 8 pm today.

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Monday, August 21, 2017

The main event today isn't a weather event. The eclipse happens later this morning, and lasts for about 2 minutes and 40 seconds. There's a chance of a couple of showers and thunderstorms in the area this afternoon and early evening. We'll see an increase in the activity tomorrow and Wednesday, possibly Thursday. A little drier and more stable air mass is expected at the end of the week.

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Friday, August 18, 2017

Joe Nicholls

We're looking like we're in a fairly quiet weather pattern today and tomorrow with the models showing some showers down by I-70. We'll gradually see the moisture spread northward, but I don't see much more than scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms through early in the week.

No chance of thunderstorms today.

Joe Nicholls and NOAA Forecast for Thursday, August 17, 2017

Joe Nicholls

The dew points are dropping, and the atmosphere is trying to dry and stablize. Still a slight chance of a brief shower or thunderstorm today, but most of the activity will be south of the area. In fact, through early next week, just enough moisture and instability to mention an isolated thunderstorm, but I wouldn't really change any outdoor plans.

Given the discussion, Joe is calling for a low chance of thunderstorms from Noon to 6 pm.
