Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Tuesday, August 30, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 36 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

The satellite images show a decrease in the cloudiness over the area, but still enough moisture to develop an isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon, but the east flow should limit the coverage over the area. Low pressure off the Pacific Northwest Coast continues to develop and will push inland Thursday and Friday resulting in more showers and thunderstorms. I…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Monday, August 29, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 35 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

We'll see quite a bit of cloudiness today, and there could be a couple of showers around, but with more of an east flow today and tomorrow, I'll keep the chances low. The low pressure deepens off the West Coast through the first half of the week, then pushes slowly eastward at the end of the week and into the weekend. Definitely looking cooler and an elevated risk of…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Thursday, August 25, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 31 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

Still enough moisture and instability for a chance of showers and thunderstorms today and tomorrow, then a drier and more stable air mass is expected this weekend through early next week. Another surge of moisture is expected during the second half of next week.

NOAA

Today - Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 pm. Partly sunny,…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Wednesday, August 24, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 30 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

There were showers around overnight, but most of the amounts were less than a tenth of an inch. There's still a fair amount of cloudiness in the region, and we'll see a chance of a couple of showers or an isolated thunderstorm each of the next couple of days. The air mass isn't all that unstable this weekend, so a little cloudiness and a slight chance of a shower or…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Tuesday, August 23, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 29 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

We'll see low pressure move eastward across southern Canada today with a very weak cold front moving into the area. The front is presently over western Utah, but probably won't make it into our area until this evening. So, I've kinda skewed the shower and thunderstorm development to later in the day and evening, but the lifted index only supports a low risk of…

Après Ski Way and Village Drive Intersection Improvement Update

Après Ski Way and Village Drive Intersection Improvement Update

Ladies & Gents,

1) The closure of the eastern leg of Après Ski Way began last Monday and continues for the duration of the project through the end of October. Vehicular and pedestrian detours have been established around this area.

2) Relocation of the utility lines spilled into last week delaying the alternating closure of the northern leg lanes. However, Native began work on the sidewalks on this…

Safety Wise and Joe Nicholls Forecast for Monday, August 22, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 28 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

As we can see by looking out the window, there's more cloudiness this morning, and is spreading into the area due to a system moving across southern Canada, Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies. The lifted index is -1 this afternoon, and while there will be a couple of thunderstorms around, I wouldn't change plans, just be aware that we could have a brief pause in…

Winning World Cup Finals bid took persistence

Madeleine Osberger - The  Aspen Daily News

Aspen didn’t land next March’s 2017 World Cup Finals — perhaps the biggest ski racing event to come to town since 1950 — by accident.

At the Aspen Chamber Resort Association and Aspen Skiing Co.’s “Afternoon Blend” event on Thursday, which included a panel discussion with ski racing icons, former U.S. Ski Team CEO Bill Marolt was credited with being the force who…

Safety Wise and NOAA Forecast for Friday, August 19, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 25 days since our last day lost to a work related injury

Joe Nicholls

The satellite images show a fairly strong cold front moving southeastward through Montana and into Wyoming, and should have enough influence on our weather to bring a scattering of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. A drier and more stable air mass will be with us over the weekend with a slight increase in moisture early next week leading to a chance…

August is National Immunization Awareness month.

Safety Wise and NOAA Forecast for Thursday, August 18, 2016

Ladies & Gents,

We have gone 24 days since our last day lost to a work related injury.

Joe Nicholls

There's one weather system moving into southwest Wyoming this morning, and this should be the reason for the showers and thunderstorms today. A second system is pushing southward across southern Canada and into Montana with the cold front clipping us later tomorrow afternoon and evening. We dry out for the weekend, but the moisture wants to return later Monday and…
