Joe Nicholls Forecast for Monday, May 21, 2018

Joe Nicholls

A little less active day on tap, but still can't completely rule out the chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon, but these should be isolated. We'll see more of an increase tomorrow, and a lingering chance on Wednesday, but overall a drier air mass and more stable over the area through the weekend. I put a slight chance in on Saturday, but if there's any activity it's looking isolated.

Joe is thinking we might have a low chance of thunderstorms from 4 to 8…

Joe Nicholls Forecast for Friday, May 18, 2018

Joe Nicholls

A weak low pressure is moving across Nevada and into Utah, then into our area today and tomorrow. We'll see an increase in showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, and especially on Saturday, so I've increased the chances and amounts. The steering current next week is really weak, so once the moisture moves into the area, it's difficult to dry the air mass, so I'll keep a low chance of a couple of afternoon and evening thunderstorms in the forecast.

There is a…

The low pressure remains over eastern Nevada this morning, and the latest data shows our lifted index between -2 and -3 this afternoon, so I'll keep the chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. Overall, a little more stable air mass and drier tomorrow through Thursday, then an increase in showers and thunderstorms at the end of the week.

The low pressure is in the process of developing over northwest Utah with a little moisture and instability into the area today bringing a chance of a couple of showers and thunderstorms. The flow shifts to more southerly tomorrow, so less of a chance of a thunderstorm, but more of an increase on Sunday with a piece of the low pressure moving across the area.

Joe Nicholls Forecast for Wednesday, May 9, 2018

Joe Nicholls

A weak system is moving across northern Utah this morning, and could be enough to generate an isolated shower or thunderstorm. Another low pressure will move into the interior of the West by Friday and Saturday, and the overnight models keep more of the energy over Utah. I'll keep the chance of showers and thunderstorms, and look at it again this afternoon and tomorrow.

Today-Increasing clouds, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the…
