I had the opportunity to join the reconnaissance team today and had a great time skiing with Deb and John out there with a bunch of people having fun. You gotta love the weather.
In our travels we noticed that we have lost a lot of snow since yesterday and some areas are getting a little narrow. It remained a little cooler up top today and so we’re still hangin’ in there. We remain open with Preview, Gondola, Burgess Creek, Four Points, Bar-UE and Morningside. The key to our staying open is Tower so you can loop Burgess Creek lift and there’s still a little snow available. It looks like it will start cooling off Wednesday night with some weather coming in, maybe even a little snow.

In the last issue of Mountain News I tried to predict how long we would be able to keep the lower maintain open and ski to the base. Our prediction was followed by 70+ degrees on Saturday and when the sun came up hot on Sunday, our plans simply melted away. We’ve never seen prolonged temperatures like this in March or April so it’s hard for us to know how long snow will last because we don’t have any history to guide us.
