What a difference a week makes!  In Mountain Operations we have gone from near desperation tactics to “where are we going to put all this snow” and have, as you can imagine, had some difficulty in getting  around.  For the record, since Valentine’s Day  we have received  64 inches (5.3 feet) of snowfall at Thunderhead and 70 inches (5.8 feet) at the summit stake.  The corker was the 27 inches on Monday.  Almost everyone I know went skiing that day.  Unfortunately…

STEAMBOAT BREAKS SINGLE DAY SNOWFALL RECORD

27 Inches Of Snow Accumulates In 24 Hours, The Most in Colorado

 

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-February 20, 2012-Steamboat received the most snow of any resort in Colorado overnight with a record breaking 27 inches accumulating at mid-mountain in a 24-hour period.  An additional 7 inches of snow was reported since the 5 am report, bringing the resort’s 30 hour total to 34 inches.

STEAMBOAT’S LITTLE RED WAGON SERVICE

In keeping with Steamboats Family friendly tradition we are rolling out a new service to our guests with small children. The Steamboat Little Red Wagon. These wagons will be available at the entrance to the resort through One Steamboat Place into the lower Gondola square area with drop off points close to the Gondola entrance and at the Kids Vacation Entrance.
